NASA’s Apollo 50th Celebration
July 2019, washington dc
I was lucky to participate in NASA’s celebration of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11. I worked with an excellent team from both HQ in DC and Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, TX to select technology demos and other exhibits for a number of tents. I focused on showcasing habitation systems that NASA is developing for future missions to the Moon and Mars.
I created an infographic poster (pictured left) to show current oxygen and water recovery levels (based on the International Space Station systems) alongside our goals for exploration systems. Although there was record heat, the event was so much fun. I spent all three days talking to the public about the work we’re doing and educating a lot of kids about life support systems for human spaceflight. On breaks I enjoyed visiting all of the other tents to hear about great work being done and fascinating discoveries being made across the agency.
